Gene Brooks

Head Track Coach
• 5-time NAIA national champion in the pole vault—personal best 18’1/2”, 8-time All-American
• Inductee into Texas Panhandle Sports Hall of Fame, Concordia Athletic Hall of Fame, and NAIA Hall of Fame
• 1990 U.S. Nationals qualification
• 15 years coaching experience



Gene Brooks coached….
• Approximately 60 NAIA national qualifications in the vault since 1997
• 26 NAIA All-Americans in individual events 10 of which were National Champships from 1998-2007
• Coached indoor and outdoor GPAC conference record holders in pole vault for men and women
• Coached female athlete from 10’10” in high school to 12’6” in college; another from 10’ to 12’; male athlete from 12’9” in high school to 16’1” in college; another male athlete from 15’9” to 17’9”
• Coached male triple jumper to 6th
place finish at 2007 NAIA Outdoor National Championship (48’ 8”)
• Coached 26 NAIA All-Americans in the jumps/vault
• Coached 10 NAIA National Championships in the jumps/vault
• Course instructor for Coaching Track and Field

• 2004 GPAC conference champion in the pole vault
• Personal best 16’1” in the pole vault




Reid Ehrisman coached…
• Seven qualifications in the pole vault for the NAIA Indoor and Outdoor National meets in 2007
• A female vaulter to a new indoor school record of 12’6 in 2007
• Female vaulter to national runner–up at the 2007 NAIA Outdoor National Championships
• Two male vaulters to top five finishes at 2007 GPAC Indoor Championships- 2nd (15’5”) and 5th (14’6”)
• Three female vaulters to top four finishes at 2007 GPAC Indoor Championships-2nd (11’7”), 3rd (11’1), 4th (11’1”)
• Three female vaulters to top six finishes at 2007 GPAC Outdoor Championships- 1st (12’3”), 4th (11’7”), 6th (11’3”)
• Two female jumpers over 18’ in the long jump in 2007– 18’1” & 18’10”
• Two male freshmen jumpers to over 45’ in the triple jump in 2007
• 4 qualifications in the long jump and high jump for the 2007 NAIA National Championship
• Female long jumper to 2007 GPAC outdoor conference runner- up (17’6”)
• Female triple jumper to 36’9” in 2007 outdoor season
